Cooking for kids at the Foodbank

I’m extremely fortunate to be developing delicious, new children’s meals with a great team at one of our amazing NJ Foodbanks…

I always begin with the chef gold standard recipe and then make appropriate changes to meet the nutritional & cost guardrails required.

Together we’ve developed recipes for homemade meatballs and meatloaf with 30% roasted veggies, cheese and applesauce-moist and delicious. The kids love them!

We’ve also improved chicken meals, added Vegetable Bolognese, Turkey Chili and tacos loaded with veggies and plant-based pea protein.

It’s incredibly rewarding to provide healthy and delicious meals for kids and seniors!

My gold standard is my Calabrese mother’s meatball recipe-(beef, pork, veal with egg, cheese & breadcrumbs)

Chicken wings grilled on the Green Egg

Imagine thousands of delicious, mini meatloaves made weekly with beef, roasted vegetables, cheddar cheese and pea protein & apple sauce

A delicious and much healthier, baked meatball with roasted veggies, cheese and pea protein.
